A winner is a losers who evaluated himself
Normally the effect of success is that people are not willing to change their ways. We always did it like this so why the need to change? But standing still is actually going backwards as those who are not succeeding are making progress.
The situation in HFK is slightly different as success can not be the reason for not willing to change What I have experienced since my arrival beginning of January are very different reactions. From people who are not willing, not capable or plain stubborn, to the opposite, people who are willing, capable and open for change.
Since I have come to HFK I have been and still am trying to change most and for all the training mentality. Discipline and stepping out of your comfort zone are two important factors in this process.
Discipline in relation to training times, dress code, eating, resting, behavior towards teammates and coaching staff.
But also in relation to team tactical rules, individually, line and team.
Stepping out of your comfort zone in relation to playing pressing on the half of the opponent, trying to build up, taking initiative, coaching each other in positive and negative situations.
But also talking freely to the coach about the things you understand or don’t!
Stepping out of your comfort zone by trying things you don't feel comfortable with and in the process making mistakes.
A winner is a loser who evaluated himself
Only by looking for your boundaries physically and mentally you can improve.
Also for the people around the team change is necessary. People who have been doing the same thing for years have to let go and let other people step in and lead the way into a new direction. Because only together HFK can go there where they want to go. To the top of Norwegian football.
